CHALLENGE:
Nicolas
and Natalie Oravec-Zarzour wanted to open a traditional Sicilian
bakery; the store had to be beautiful, reflect the colors and textures
of Sicily, and allow patrons to view the baking process.
SOLUTION:
The
bakery walls are painted pistachio green, and shoppers can see the open
kitchen from the public area. The storefront has colorful displays of
food, which connect customers to bakery specials.and traditional
Sicilian holidays. The pastry displays are simple and neutral. The
espresso maker is special; its original home was the restaurant where
Natalie and Nicolas met.
