CHALLENGE:
Jill
and Shane Kissack needed to open their wine shop fast; the store had to
be beautiful, simple to build (they would be fabricating and installing
millwork, flooring, and trim themselves), compatible with the store's
graphic logo, and allow for flexible display.
SOLUTION:
The
design reinforces the store logo and simplifies construction and
display. The store layout centers around a three-dimensional
representation of the store logo; bottles are hung in three recessed
boxes across from the store entry. Paint colors match the logo, and
wood colors complement the color scheme. We simplified construction of
display fixtures by standardizing box sizes and customizing display
inserts. Track lighting for displays allows lights to be flexible-
hanging fixtures can be added and moved. We also provided art display
space so that the store could host artists' receptions.
