Recently, Joel embarked on a memorable trip to India, attending the wedding of our dear colleague Shivani as well as visiting some of India's iconic sites and landmarks. With other team members also joining the celebration, the trip was a great success.
Joel's journey was more than just wedding festivities. It was an opportunity to experience India's rich architectural heritage firsthand, an inspiring backdrop for anyone passionate about design and history.

Shivani and her husband Tamal Krishna had a beautiful wedding surrounded by family and friends as well as members from our firm. As we gathered to honor Shivani, the sparkling energy of an Indian wedding left a lasting impression on Joel and all who attended. It was a perfect reminder of how architecture and culture are often woven together in the spaces where life's milestones unfold.

Beyond the wedding, Joel took time to soak in some of India's iconic landmarks, each telling its own story of craftmanship and history. He visited Red Fort, a 17th century fortress in Delhi that embodies the grandeur of Mughal architecture. Walking through its massive red sandstone walls, Joel admired the way the fort's design served both royal splendor and practical defense. He also visited Humayun's Tomb, which left him memorized with its symmetrical layout and harmonious proportions. For Joel, seeing this blend of Persian influences and Indian artistry up close was a highlight of the trip. Venturing north, Joel caught breathtaking views where nature's architecture rivals any man-made masterpiece. The sheer scale and tranquility provided a humbling counterpoint to the intricate details of the man-made world.

Experiencing these places in person offered Joel invaluable perspectives that we love to bring back into our practice. Taking trips like this refreshes creativity and deepens connections with our international employees at Berman Design. It also inspires new ways of thinking and sparks creativity for Joel's sketching.
It is a privilege to work alongside a team that celebrates life's important moments and finds inspiration in the world beyond blueprints and renderings.
